Michigan warns citizens not to consume kratom

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services warns citizens not to consume kratom because it may be contaminated with Salmonella. Known as Thang, Kakuam, Thom, Ketom or Biak, kratom is consumed as a pill, powder and in tea for its stimulant effects and as as an opioid substitute.
